WordPress Menu Editing Guide: Detailed Steps

Organizing your WordPress site’s menus is an important part of improving the user experience and providing visitors with easy navigation. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to organize WordPress menus:

1. Access to Menu Management Page

  • Log in to the WordPress admin panel.
  • Go to the “View” tab from the left menu and then click on “Menus”.

2. Create a New Menu

  • On the menu management page, go to the “Create Menu” section.
  • Give the menu a name and create a new menu by clicking on the “Create Menu” button.

3. Adding Items to the Menu

  • Select the items you want to add to the menu from the “Pages”, “Posts” or “Custom Links” tab on the left side.
  • Add the selected items to your menu by clicking the “Add to Menu” button.

4. Editing Menu Items

  • Drag and drop to sort menu items or create submenus.
  • You can provide additional information to users by adding a “Description” for each menu item.

5. Specifying Menu Locations and Settings

  • To determine the menu layout, select the appropriate position in “Menu Position” (for example, “Main Menu”).

6. Save Changes

  • Click on the “Save Menu” button to save your changes.

8. Edit an Existing Menu

  • To edit an existing menu, select the menu you want to edit from the “Select Menu” section.
